My story
For the past fifteen years I’ve always had a job, and within that time I’ve been lucky enough to wear many different hats. I’ve been a server, an applications engineer, managed 36 vacation rental properties, and two years ago I was even lucky enough to start my own business. While I found successes in each, I didn't necessarily find the sense of fulfillment I was looking for. Now as I’ve grown, a desire has also grown within me to find joy in my daily work. This made me ask myself: “what about my previous roles made me feel satisfied?” and my answer came immediately:
Writing.
What I love to do is write, and the more I explored this avenue, the more I found that my previous accomplishments rose from this root. Within my portfolio, you’ll see a cultivation of my previous professional works mixed in with some unproduced commercial spec pieces I enjoyed writing. If you find any of my projects to be useful or inspiring please be sure to reach out via the “contact me” button on my home page or the form submission below!
Beyond my career
I was born in St. Louis, MO and raised with multiple creative outlets. After spending most of my childhood as a 3 sport athlete, I developed a love for martial arts and began dedicating most of my time towards Muay Thai, wrestling and Jiu Jitsu. The discipline, flexibility, and creativity I have witnessed over the years has had a tremendous effect on how I think and operate. It has not only given me a sense of humility and patience that I try to bring into every moment of my life, but it's also shown me that my art is everything, and that everything can be an art.
My family, although small, is very important to me. My wife is a senior UX designer at HEB and has had a incredible impact on both my personal and professional journeys. Not only have we been happily together for over a decade, but she was also a driving force behind my enrollment in the Rice University UX/UI certification program that changed my life.
In our spare time, you can find us screenwriting or designing, dogs at our feet, with a good movie on in the background. When a nice break from the screens is needed, we like to take that time to fly fish, hike, or hit the climbing gym to decompress.
